10th Annual Monastery Feast Day Celebration

Christ is born! Glorify Him!

It is our pleasure to invite you to celebrate the tenth annual feast day celebration of the Nativity of Our Lord Jesus Christ Monastery on Saturday, December 28, 2019. 

Schedule of Events (all times are approximate):

• 9:30 AM - Reading of the Hours and Prayers Before Communion
• 10:00 AM - Divine Liturgy and procession to the cemetery
• 12:00 PM - Reception / Luncheon at the St. Seraphim Retreat Center

Keynote speaker: Dr. Lori Branch is a professor of English at the University of Iowa, where she teaches and writes about literature and religion. She has lectured on the Bible, Wordsworth, and postsecular studies in the US, Europe, and China. She was a recent guest on the Amon Sul podcast for Ancient Faith Radio. She teaches Sunday school and co-directs the choir at St. Raphael of Brooklyn Orthodox Church in Iowa City, where she lives with her husband and twin daughters.

Father Alexander Men’s Life and Teachings: Russian Spiritual Wisdom for Christians Today

The talk will focus on his life and his teachings on prayer and reading the Bible.

Seating is limited. Please RSVP no later than December 16th. 

Please donate $10 per adult. Children attend for free.  When you RSVP, please let us know how many children will be attending with you as we prepare gifts for these special guests.
